What is Prilosec?
Prilosec (Omeprazole) decreases the amount of acid produced in the
stomach.
Prilosec (Omeprazole) is used to treat ulcers, gastroesophageal
reflux disease (GERD or heartburn), and other conditions involving
excessive stomach acid production.
Cautions Regarding Prilosec
Before taking Prilosec, tell your doctor if you ever have had liver
disease. You may not be able to take Prilosec, or you may require a
dosage adjustment or special monitoring during treatment..
Do not stop taking Prilosec even if you begin to feel better. Your
symptoms may improve before the condition is fully treated.
If you experience an allergic reaction (difficulty breathing;
closing of the throat; swelling of the lips, tongue, or face; or
hives), stop taking Prilosec and seek emergency medical attention.
